Nordtveit...
Hasn't had a very good start at the club...and many including myself have been critical and doubted his quality based on prior performances.

At Pool he had an OK game after a slow start when Liverpool got their first goal following confusion down our right.

However not many have commented on his long ball to Antonio that set up our second goal...with a bit of help off the nogging of the Pool player.

Well done Havard...keep up the good work.

We need your best form down the right...

Re: Nordtveit...
He played at centre back in one of the early pre season games and looked uneasy. He was in midfield at Stamford Bridge early in the season and was poor. Not up to speed for the PL and caught in possession frequently. We all know what happened when he played at right back.

Re: Nordtveit...
Obiang came off injured and he still didn't get a game 8n his natural position.

Agree Eddie, and why doesn't Fletcher get a look in when he's looked promising when he's played.

Re: Nordtveit...
What was the point of making him a sub yesterday? That meant we didn't have a striker on the bench at all.

Makes no fucking sense.

I think he might have played in his proper position against Astra as well? But yeah, I've got no idea if he's a good central midfielder as he hasn't had a proper run there. I know he didn't look too comfortable at right back though. Why don't we buy players for the positions we need?

Never impressed me. Can't say I ever saw him play in his proper position but far too pedestrian for my liking.

Re: Nordtveit...
Seems that he's done at the club. Hope they find a willing club and get a decent price. Players come and go, but I do think he's been seriously mis-handled.

Re: Nordtveit...
I feel a bit sorry for him really. Like most of our summer transfers, he has barely had a chance to impress before getting labeled a flop, being out of favour with the manager.

Sends a massive warning signal to any potential signings this coming summer.

Re: Nordtveit...
He played most of the next game vs Bournemouth at DM too. We let in one goal in about 150 minutes of him playing the role basically. Job done imo.

Re: Nordtveit...
I can only remember him playing in his actual position the first game of the season against chelsea where he gave the ball away a few times and looked a bit lost by the pace of the game.

Maybe hes played DM since but not a lot to judge him on in a match situation

Re: Nordtveit...
It all sounded good when he arrived. A German league regular, good age, previous experience in London .... but has looked out of his depth when he has appeared.

Why aren't these players who ,at best, could be described as 'needing games' playing in the Development squad?
They just seem to disappear off the face of the earth.
Presumably he has been told he will go in the summer and is just serving out his time.

Re: Nordtveit...
Very easy in hindsight to say this was a bad buy... fact is, on paper, it was a very good transfer and most fans were excited by it. He was captain and mainstay of a good side in Germany, who had also had experience at Arsenal and therefore knew the English game.

I've no doubt that his 'free' move had it's costs but at least we didn't fork out the 34m that Arsenal paid for his equally shit BMG teammate.

Somebody watched this geezer and concluded he was better than Obiang.

Let that sink in for a second.

Re: Nordtveit...
I have a deep loathing of the bloke. I think because he epitomises the complete clusterfuck the board and Bilic made of the Summer transfer window. A once in the blue moon chance to actually attract some better quality starting players and first signing was this shithouse.

Alf

You are having a laugh mate - he lacks pace, mobility, a short pass or a long pass

His second touch is a tackle, which results in a foul as he cant do that either

Upon what basis does he warrant a run in CM? I'll tell you, none.

'What's happened to this fella? He's disappeared.'

I fucking hope so.
It took 20 minutes of a pre season to see that this bloke is utterly unsuitable, as sated at the time and roundly cunted too

Facts are the bloke has not one redeemable footballing characteristic - none, nadder, zilch - he is SHIT end of

One thing he was not though was 'free', he has been a thunderously expensive fuck up

Sir Alf 9:25 Thu Mar 16
Re: Nordtveit...
How many times has he actually started at CM the position we supposedly bought him for? I assumed that he was supposed to be alongside Noble but Obiang came in and became one of our best players :-)

Would be interested in seeing him play alongside Obiang for a few games but it wont happen

Re: Nordtveit...
Despite what I just posted he hasn"t had a fair run of games in his position and could still come good at some point down the line.

Re: Nordtveit...
Sorry, but the priority has to be quality before assessing the cost everytime. I've not been a fan all season and have said so on here in different threads, and am happy to say that he, along with most of the other pre-season arrivals have been fucking hopeless.

Nothing personal, I'm sure he loves his old mum, but I'm certain that he's also acutely aware that it just hasn't worked out this season...
